I remember searching through the entire noob area in nightfall together with a guildie because our guild leader said something about hidden treasures and all he said was that there was 1 somewhere on the noob island.

That was also before I knew you could spot those treasures by just holding down the alt-key, or simply using wki...

So ye, when we found it, I was quite freakin happy

When I first did them on five character I neted around 150k at least, cant remember the exact figure. It took me about 2-3 hours to do them all which wasn't too bad.
Now there lame and never seem to give out good stuff then again it was a nice little additition but they should have been RANDOM spawns, so they were hidden, not on guild wiki.

I got a couple of good drops from these chests. Off the top of my head, R9 20/20 +29hp Gemstone Axe, R10 Motivation Diamond Aegis -5 20% +29hp. Gold is good too....for a while. It fueled a couple of my armors for my various characters. I like em

I dont bother with the hidden treasures any more. After the last 3 or 4 times through and geting nothing but some lame purples (not even max) and around 300g per chest, I gave up on them.(Havent gotten a gold out of 1 for so long). I do remember that the very first one I ever opened I got a ruby. First 1 I ever got. I dont remember the cash amount, but it was well worth the finding of the chests. Anymore though, just not worth the time.

Same here, seems that a new character actually makes some money of those chests because when i recently opened all those chest with my warrior they were all golds and 2k a chest at the minimum, ok i didnt bother catching those little chests on the noob isle because i knew its gotta be horrible to beging with.

Anet, why not reset the whole thing like it was when the chests where introduced? i remember selling shield of the lions for 20k a pop.. hehe

I did the Do Not Touch in Forum Highlands with two characters last week. The Necro got a sapphire and the Ele got a gold Diamond Aegis shield.

The Ele did it first and was nearly fried by the Djinn. Expecting the worst, I was surprised when the Djinn didn't attack the Necro - they just hovered and let him out.

The hidden treasures and treasure chests have been OK - mostly bows, scythes, warrior weapons, or runes - always golds.

All of my characters, save my nascent Rit, have hit the "always purple and lame money" stage. That means staves are always junk, and you get a lot of those too. The Istan stuff isn't always max either, but that's true even when you're getting golds.

Still, while I'm low on funds, it's always nice to take my lesser-played toons out for a whirl and get free stuff, if only for mods to improve my heroes.

I got a r9 Shield of the Lion a few weeks back. My absoloute favourite shield ever, I was very happy with that drop. Why do people spend hundreds on shields when you can get one of them for less than 10k?

But I think that's the only decent drop I've ever had from one of them, besides some decent weapon mods.

And yes, the first time you open the chests with a character you'll get quite a bit of money and some golds, but any time after that you get a significantly reduced amount of gold and usually only purples.

A chest reset weekend would be awesome..

fanged sword, adamantine scimitar and shield of the lion are the ones that stick in my mind - the rest were probably r10+ merch food.

The later characters I've taken through nightfall only open the torment chests and so far they've stayed gold and continue to give 3k a pop.

Yeh something about those lines, a weekend in which they reset all chests and delete the history, but im afraid we will never see it, doesnt really matter though.

Last time i picked the chests with most of my chars i got about 70 k on money alone, some golds but not really usefull mods to keep, or non max.
It did provide me the means to kick abaddon in his balls again to get myself primeval armor, which was my trofy for the HoM, last elite armor set.

out of the 10 pve chars i have i skipped 4 of them, mesmer still not in nf, ranger got purple at first chest, same for monk and my necro discovered the chests where empty. Now here's the weird thing, when the chests where introduced i opened them with my necro, then the chest would stay empty for months, while my other chars got to pick them every month, then suddenly it switched over to my assassin, she still isnt able to get the chests and last time i opened them was in augustus 07, but my necro can open them every month now, uhmm hows that possible?? some random code blocking a character accessing the chests lol?

Used to be the treasure chests were only found in FoW and Underworld. The first time I opened one I got nothing. It was a little disappointing.

Those chests are still there, did the fow a while ago, had 3 chests, nothing came out for us, think our heroes took them
